Łukasz Gmerek, MD/PhD

Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine I in 2005. He gained professional experience working as an assistant professor at the Chair and Department of General and Colorectal Surgery of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan.
He has a second-level specialisation in general surgery.
His interests include problems in gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery, as well as diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases.
He is a member of the Polish Surgeons’ Society, Polish Coloproctology Club and ECCO (European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation), ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology). Throughout his career he has taken part in a number of courses and internships in general and laparoscopic surgery and proctology in Switzerland and Germany. He also teaches at training courses on general surgery and intestinal anastomosis techniques.

Author of many publications and conference presentations on general and colorectal surgery.
His passions include sailing and skiing.
