YAG irydotomy

YAG iridotomy is a laser procedure performed for closed-angle glaucoma. It involves making a small opening in the peripheral part of the iris, which improves the flow of aqueous humour in the eye, preventing increases in intraocular pressure.

• The procedure is performed in outpatient settings at our clinic.
• It lasts a few minutes,
• does not require any special preparation on the part of the patient
• and does not involve any pain.

After the procedure, you should not drive for a few hours.
