Frenuloplasty
During a surgery for a short frenulum (Latin ‘frenulum breve’), called frenuloplasty, the frenulum is lengthened.

Benefits:
- frenuloplasty makes foreskin retraction easier, reduces pain during sex (if any) and decreases incorrect penis curvature during erection.
Indications and contraindications
Indications:
- difficulty in retracting the foreskin from the glans during erection,
- pain in the abdominal region of the penis during erection,
- bleeding from broken frenulum after sex,
- scarring of the frenulum after minor injuries during sex.
Contraindications:
- significant blood clotting disorders.
FAQ
- Can the procedure result in erection disorders and affect my fertility?

If a procedure is done properly, there is no risk of erection disorders. Quite often it improves penis sexual functions.
- When can I resume sex life after the procedure?

Sexual abstinence after the procedure should last for about 4 weeks.
- When can I start doing sports after circumcision?

We recommend returning to sports activities after the wound has fully healed, i.e. 10 to 14 days after the procedure.
Before the procedure:
- Two weeks before the procedure you should have the following blood tests done: full blood count, electrolyte test, coagulation test, blood type, glucose, creatinine, Hbs antigen, ANTI-HCV.
Procedure:
- In adult patients the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. Anaesthetics are applied in the form of cream or a subcutaneous injection.
After the procedure:
- We recommend rinsing the wound with 3% boric acid solution and local application of antibiotic ointment for 3 days.
- A follow-up visit takes place on the 3rd day after the procedure.
- Sutures dissolve completely about 7 to 10 days after the procedure.
- Please consult your urologist if any of the following symptoms appear: redness around the wound, bleeding after the procedure, lasting swelling of glans skin, pus discharge from the wound, fever.
